The Kiel Area School District is excited to announce that Liz Muhs, Special Education Paraprofessional at Kiel High School, was chosen as one of 45 winners for Eastern Wisconsin Excellence in Education Awards Program!!!
The Eastern Wisconsin Excellence in Education Awards Program is a partnership among twenty-four school districts and WFRV - Channel 5 to recognize exceptional school employees. In this partnership, Kiel joins Brillion, Campbellsport, Chilton, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, Hilbert, Howards Grove, Kohler, Manitowoc, Mishicot, North Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac, Oakfield, Oostburg, Random Lake, Reedsville, Ripon, Rosendale-Brandon, Sheboygan, Sheboygan Falls, Stockbridge, Two Rivers, Valders and Waupun.
This award program is similar to the “Golden Apple” and “Shining Stars” programs in Green Bay and the Fox Valley. Parents, students, community members, and staff across these twenty-four school districts nominated deserving school employees in the following categories:
Innovation in work (How has the employee demonstrated innovation in his/her work area?)
Culture creator in the work environment (How has the employee gone above and beyond in creating a positive school culture?
Social/emotional well being (How has the employee impacted the social/emotional well being of students and/or the school environment?)
Community involvement (How has the employee positively impacted the community?)
Student connection (In what ways has the employee built positive relationships with students?)
Mrs. Muhs was recognized as a professional that has significantly and positively impacted our learning community in the area of student connections.

On Saturday, May 18th, Mrs. Muhs and the other EIE Award winners from the twenty-four school districts were recognized at a ceremony in Kiel High School Performing Arts Center.
