Welcome to Kindergarten Room 302!

My name is Cari Schmidt and I have been a teacher for the past 21 years.  I have been teaching kindergarten in the Kiel Area School District for the past 10 years.

I live in Manitowoc with my husband Mike.  We have three wonderful children, Cooper who is 20. He's a junior at UW Oshkosh studying Criminal Justice. Michaela is 18 and studying Nursing at LTC, and Jackson is 15. He's our three sport athlete and I love to watch him play!  We also have 2 dogs. Woody is our bird hunter. He loves to kick up pheasants and retrieve ducks when my boys go hunting and Tula is our chocolate lab. She's a rescue dog and amazingly affectionate.  I have three brothers and two sisters.  All of us live very close to each other which makes for some great family times at our mom and dad's house.

I love to play golf with my husband, Mike. We love our special time on Wilke Lake and being involved with our kids.

I am so thrilled to be teaching Kindergarten! Each day brings new challenges and opportunities for learning.  Your children make my job so rewarding and exciting!  I can't imagine doing anything else!  Thank you for being such a great part of what happens at Zielanis Elementary School!
